UniLab Testing Laboratory

UniLab Testing Laboratory is a professional lighting and product testing laboratory providing reliable, standards-based testing services for luminaires and lighting equipment. The laboratory is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 by internationally recognized accreditation bodies, including ILAC MRA and NAC, ensuring test results that are accurate, traceable, and accepted worldwide.

With advanced testing facilities, calibrated instruments, and experienced technical personnel, UniLab supports manufacturers, designers, and project owners in verifying product performance, safety, and durability according to international standards.

International Laboratory Accreditation and Compliance

UniLab Testing Laboratory operates under ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, demonstrating technical competence and consistent quality management in testing activities. Accreditation by ILAC MRA and NAC ensures that test reports issued by UniLab are recognized globally and can be used for certification, regulatory approval, and project submission.

All testing procedures follow internationally accepted standards, providing confidence that test results reflect real operating conditions and comply with industry requirements.

Comprehensive Lighting and Product Testing Methodology

UniLab offers a wide range of testing services designed to evaluate optical performance, thermal behavior, environmental resistance, and mechanical durability of luminaires and related products.

Photometric Testing

Photometric tests measure light output, luminous intensity distribution, and optical performance to confirm compliance with lighting design and performance specifications.

Thermal Test (Normal Operation – Clause 12.4)

Thermal testing evaluates temperature rise during normal operation, ensuring product safety, reliability, and long-term performance under specified operating conditions.

IP Test (Ingress Protection – Clause 9.2)

IP testing verifies protection against dust and water ingress, helping confirm suitability for indoor, outdoor, and harsh environmental applications.

Humidity Test

Humidity tests assess product performance under high-moisture conditions, supporting evaluation of long-term reliability in tropical and high-humidity environments.

Endurance Test

Endurance testing simulates prolonged operation to evaluate durability, stability, and resistance to performance degradation over time.

IK Test

IK testing measures resistance to mechanical impact, ensuring luminaires can withstand physical stress in public, industrial, and outdoor installations.

Salt Spray Test

Salt spray testing evaluates corrosion resistance, particularly for products intended for coastal, marine, or industrial environments.

History and Development of UniLab

UniLab testing laboratory development timeline from 2009 to present

UniLab has continuously expanded its testing capabilities to support evolving lighting standards and industry demands.

  • 2009: Installation of goniophotometer for in-house photometric testing
  • 2010: Establishment of in-house IP test laboratory
  • 2011: New goniophotometer installation and software upgrade
  • 2012: Improvement of thermal and endurance test facilities; salt spray testing introduced
  • 2015: Humidity test chamber installed
  • 2017: Dedicated UniLab Testing Laboratory building established
  • 2018: ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation for photometric testing (IES LM-79-08, CIE 121-1996)
  • 2021: ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation for thermal testing
  • 2023: Expanded ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation for photometric, thermal, and IP testing; new IK test machine installed; new spectroradiometer and 2-meter integrating sphere system added
